Concord High School
Wilmington, Delaware
Service: Construction Management
Project Value: $28,000,000
Square Footage: 280,000
Working in a Joint Venture with The Nason our personnel were
awarded a contract by Brandywine School District to provide
project and construction management services for the renovation
of Concord High School. Originally built in 1971 the school had
not received any capital improvements over the past 30 years.
The project involves design, renovation and new construction
of the facility. A completely new mechanical and electrical
system is being installed together with the installation of a
sprinkled fire protection system, an item not found in the
original construction. All program spaces are being renovated
and brought into line with current code and educational
requirements, including a state of the art library facility.
During construction approximately half of the student body
was taught in two modular buildings custom designed and built on
the existing site. This 40,000 sq foot space was an integrated
part of the operation school enabling the absolute minimum of
disruption to the students during construction.
Now complete, the project provides the area with a school
capable of providing high quality education well into the 21st
century.
