Camden Sewer Reconstruction Project Camden, New Jersey
Service:
Construction Management Services
Client:
City of Camden Department of Utilities
The City of Camden determined it to be necessary to replace
31,597 linear feet of combined sewers throughout the city.
The locations impacted include residential and business
districts. The project includes extremely deep sewer
installations through narrow streets with residents adjacent to
the work.
In order to accomplish this it was necessary to relocate
various utilities such as water, gas and electric. At some
locations it was necessary to perform repairs to the sewer in
place without excavation. During the project it was necessary to
maintain all utility service to all residential and business
locations during construction with minimal disruption.
A community outreach plan was established to disseminate
information to the residents and business owners. Coordination
with emergency services and daily services was necessary in
order to minimize impact of the project on the community.
Bertino & Associates staff oversaw the team onsite
responsible for on-site inspection and documentation, cost and
schedule control preparation of change orders and progress
payments, progress reporting, shop drawing and submittal review,
review of certified payrolls and response to Contractor’s
requests for information and all contractor correspondence. They
were also responsible for conducting the project progress
meetings, preparing meeting minutes and community relations
associated with the construction project.
