Bertino & Associates Personnel oversaw those persons
providing construction management services for Harrisburg
International Airport’s new $222 million multi-modal
transportation facility.
The program consists of a brand-new 283,000 square-foot
terminal building with eight multiple-use jet gates; a
multi-modal transportation center capable of handling charter,
commercial and public transportation buses, hotel shuttle vans,
limousines, rental cars, taxis, and 2,700 public parking spaces;
and an AMTRA K rail station along the busy Keystone Corridor,
all connected by climate-controlled moving walkways.
Additionally, a 10,000 square-foot parallel taxiway and CAT III
Instrument Landing System will allow for safer flight operations
in poor weather. The new terminal complex was constructed just
east of the existing terminal, and opened during the summer of
2004.
Funding for the project will come from AIP Entitlements and
Discretionary Funds, Passenger Facility Charges, General Airport
Revenue Bonds, SARAA funds, T-3 Grants, and from PennDOT and
AMTRAK for the train station.
The specified management responsibilities include value
engineering, construction management, resident inspection,
design review/management, scheduling, cost control, contract
administration, estimating, claims evaluation preparation and
negotiation, change order evaluation, testing
coordination/commissioning, community relations, safety
monitoring, shop drawing processing, progress reports, status
reporting, constructability reviews, and procurement management.
